Biographical Information[edit]
Kazuo Takeuchi pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball for 6 years.
Takeuchi signed with the Daiei Stars in 1950, but he only pitched 5 games combined for the top team in his first three seasons. He recorded a 1.96 ERA in 15 games in 1953, and he saw his most usage in 1954. Takeuchi went 10-16 with a 3.88 ERA, and he was 6th in losses in the Pacific League (tied with Eiji Shibata and Toshio Takamatsu). He was 3-8 with a 4.10 ERA in 1955, but he missed the next two seasons. Takeuchi had a 2.82 ERA in 19 appearances in 1958, and he announced his retirement.
Overall, Takeuchi was 14-28 with a 3.92 ERA, struck out 223 and pitched 457 innings in 6 seasons in NPB.
