Biographical Information[edit]
Toshiaki Ogawa signed with the Chunichi Dragons in 1960, and he spent his first three seasons primarily in the NPB Farm Leagues; he only got 2 at-bats combined for the top team. He replaced Takeo Yoshizawa to become Chunichi's starting catcher in 1963, and he played 101 games with a .211/.231/.267 batting line. Ogawa hit .205/.218/.251 in 90 games in 1964, but his spot was taken by Tatsuhiko Kimata so he only played one game in 1965. He then jumped to the Taiyo Whales, and he was 13-for-60 in 1966. He only got 5 at-bats in 1967, and he announced his retirement.
Overall, Ogawa hit .208/.226/.267 with 105 hits and 4 homers in 7 seasons in NPB.
