Biographical Information

Toru Iwata was drafted by the Hanshin Tigers in the 4th round of the 1988 NPB draft, and he was 1-for-23 in his first season. He only got 6 at-bats combined in the next five season, and he went 96-for-24 in 1995. Iwata was 3-for-11 in 1996, and he didn't return to the big club again before he announced his retirement in 1998. He later coached Osaka Kaisei Gakuen High School from 2022 to 2023.
