Biographical Information

Tomohiro Hamada was 23-8 with a 1.89 ERA and two Best Nine awards in his college career, and he represented Japan in the 2014 Haarlem Baseball Week. The Chunichi Dragons selected him in the 4th round of the 2014 NPB draft, and he debuted against the Hiroshima Carp on April 19. He allowed a homer to rookie Takayoshi Noma, and he was the first pitcher in NPB history to gave up a homer to the first batter he faced, with that homer beings the other player's first career home run. That was Hamada's only appearance for the big club before he announced his retirement in 2020.
