Biographical Information[edit]

Todd Credeur pitched in the minor leagues and for the USA national team.

Credeur represented the USA in the 1984 Amateur World Series, going 0-1 with a 3.24 ERA for the Bronze Medal winners; he lost to Panama's Víctor Mendoza. [1] He signed with the Houston Astros as am undrafted free agent in 1986, and he was 13-2 with a 4.01 ERA for the Asheville Tourists in his first season. He tied for second in the South Atlantic League in wins (four behind Kevin Armstrong), was 7th with 91 walks (between Rafael Burduan and Cliff Walker) and 8th with 147 K (between Dan Gabriele and Blaise Ilsley). Among Astros farmhands, he was third in wins (behind Ilsley and Anthony Kelley), led in walks (8 more than Terry Wells) and third in strikeouts (after Ilsley and Dody Rather).

He went 3-3 with a 3.77 ERA for the Osceola Astros in 1987, and he collected 7 saves with a solid 1.72 ERA in 28 games in 1988. He also pitched 15 games with 4 saves for the Columbus Astros, and his ERA was 4.62. He tied Rocky Childress for 8th in the Houston system in appearances and tied Fred Costello for 4th in saves. Credeur was 1-1 with a 1.67 ERA in Osceola in 1989, and he went 2-4 with a 4.80 ERA in Columbus. He was 1-1 with a 3.52 ERA in AA in 1990, and his professional career ended. After baseball, he worked in the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office. [2]
