Biographical Information[edit]

Tobias Glimmerud has played in the Elitserien and for the Swedish national team.

He was 2 for 22 for the 2020 Stockholm Monarchs. [1] The teenager improved to .356/.397/.407 in 2021, tying for 4th in the league with 4 HBP. [2] He was at .255/.317/.394 in '22. [3] During 2023, he hit .312/.411/.390 with 25 runs in 20 games and going 14-for-16 in steals, finishing 6th in runs and tying Tommy Lindell for 4th in swipes. [4]

Glimmerud produced at a .311/.361/.400 rate with 23 runs in 20 games in 2024. [5] He was dominant in the 2025 Federations Cup, hitting .526/.591/.947 with 8 steals and 12 runs in 5 games, winning Best Hitter honors in the Sweden pool. He was 4th in average, 3rd in slugging, 5th in OBP, 1st in runs (by 3), 1st in hits, tied for first in RBI (8), first in steals and tied for first in triples (2). [6] That summer in Sweden, he hit .345/.421/.488 with 23 runs in 26 games and was 13-for-16 in swipes. He tied for 7th in average, was 10th in slugging, ranked 8th in runs (18), tied Daniel Johnson for second in doubles (7) and tied Joel Johnson for 4th in stolen bases. [7] Debuting for the national team in the 2025 European Championship, he split time between RF and 1B for the Swedes. He drew a walk from Cuban ERA champion Pablo Guillén (pitching for Spain his first time up. He finished 0-for-14 with 2 walks but managed to drive in 3 runs, all against Germany (on two grounders and a squeeze bunt). He fielded .929. He had almost half their RBI; they had 7 in their 6 games and he had 3 of them; Alfred Glavå was the only other player with multiple RBI for Sweden, which did avoid relegation. He had the lowest oh-fer of the event. [8]
