Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Tim Pugh was selected by the Cincinnati Reds in the 6th round of the 1989 amateur draft. In 1990, while pitching for the Charleston Wheelers, he led the Carolina League with 15 wins, 8 complete games, and his 1.88 ERA was second best in the league. During the league championship, Pugh posted two shutouts, earning team MVP honors.

In 1996, he was involved in a game of yo-yo between the Reds and the Kansas City Royals. He started the year with the Reds but on May 10th was claimed off waivers by the Royals. On July 8th, he was claimed back by the Reds, but before he could pitch for them, he was claimed again by the Royals on July 12th. On August 15th, the Reds claimed him once more, and he made one final appearance with Cincinnati in September before his season ended.
