Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Tim Nedin played in the Minnesota Twins system from 1989 to 1992. He was taken by the club in the 21st round of the 1989 amateur draft, one pick ahead of pitcher Dana Allison.

In his first season, 1989, he went 6-2 with a 1.58 ERA in 14 games (7 starts) for the Elizabethton Twins. He completed 5 of his starts and shutout 1; in 74 innings, he allowed just 45 hits, while striking out 102 batters. He 12.4 strikeouts per 9 innings were tops in the Appalachian League, while he was second in strikeouts, behind Jac Gelb's 110. His 5.5 hits per nine innings were second in the loop, as well, behind Jayson Best's 5.0 mark. In 1990, he went 3-13 with a 3.39 ERA in 27 games (22 starts) for the Kenosha Twins. Despite his record, he still recorded 3 complete games and 2 shutouts and on August 21, he threw a seven-inning no-hitter against the Burlington Braves. He also had 144 Ks in 140 2/3 innings. In 1991, he was 1-5 with a 3.98 mark in 12 starts for the Visalia Oaks and in 1992, he made a single start for the Fort Myers Miracle, posting a 0.00 ERA to wrap up his career.

Overall, Nedin went 10-20 with 9 complete games, 4 shutouts and a 3.00 ERA in 54 games (42 starts). In 282 innings, he allowed 236 hits and 129 walks (!.294 WHIP), while striking out 299 batters (9.5 K/9 IP).
