Biographical Information[edit]
Tetsuo Yoneyama was drafted by the Nishitetsu Lions in the 5th round of the 1970 NPB draft, and he hit .253/.268/.411 in 37 games in 1971. He slumped to .061/.114/.061 in 1972, and he soon bounced back as his batting line was .269/.328/.375 in 50 games in 1973. Yoneyama then played 64 games with a .200/.228/.282 batting line in 1974, and the Lions traded him with Satoru Miwa to the Hiroshima Carp for Masaji Nishizawa and Shigeru Matsubayashi. However, Yoneyama only got 2 more at-bats for the top team before he announced his retirement in 1977.
Overall, Yoneyama hit .221/.258/.323 with 76 hits and 7 homers in 5 seasons in NPB. He had 365 plate appearances in his 183 games.
