Biographical Information[edit]

Teruyuki Uno played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 10 years.

Uno was drafted by the Hankyu Braves in the 3rd round of the 1969 NPB draft, and he mainly stayed in the NPB Farm Leagues in his first five seasons; he only got 7 at-bats for the big club. He was 6-for-25 in 1975, and he went 6-for-31 in 1976. Uno got some chances in 1977, and he played 59 games with a .209/.294/.264 batting line as the backup catcher behind Shinji Nakazawa. He was 3-for-21 in 1978, and he appeared in 4 of 7 games of the 1978 Nippon Series as backup catcher; the Braves lost to the Yakult Swallows in 7 games. Uno only played 8 games combined in the next two seasons, and the Braves traded him to the Taiyo Whales for Shiro Miyamoto. He went 0-for-3 in 1981, and he announced his retirement in 1982.

Overall, Uno hit .190/.271/.291 with 36 hits in 10 seasons in NPB.
