Biographical Information

Terumasa Matsuo played for the Kagawa Olive Guyners from 2005 to 2007, and he won the MVP of the Shikoku Island League plus in 2007 after he led the loop with 15 wins and 159 strikeouts. He had won the ERA title (1.30) in 2005. The Boston Red Sox signed him, and he was 7-5 with a 4.12 ERA in Greenville Drive in 2008. His 135 strikeouts were second in the Red Sox chain (3 behind Félix Doubront) and tied Dellin Betances and Edgar Osuna for 6th in the South Atlantic League. He returned to the Olive Guyners, and he announced his retirement in 2009. His fastball hit 93 mph and he threw a slider and sharp curveball.
