Biographical Information[edit]
Terry Johnson played in the minor leagues and for the USA national baseball team.
Johnson represented the USA in the 1981 Intercontinental Cup, when they won it all. [1] The Texas Rangers picked him in the 4th round of the 1982 Amateur Draft, and he was 4-4 with a 2.65 ERA for the GCL Rangers in his first season. He went 7-5 with a 4.45 ERA with the Burlington Rangers in 1983, and he also pitched 4 games with a 5.40 ERA for the Tulsa Drillers. His 146 strikeouts tied José Guzmán for the most by a Rangers farmhand. Johnson was 6-9 with a 4.53 ERA there in 1984, and he had a 1-3 record with a 4.35 ERA then he announced his retirement.
As a pro, Johnson had gone 19-23 with a 4.09 ERA in 84 games in 4 seasons.
