Biographical Information

Terry Johnson played in the minor leagues and for the USA national baseball team.

Johnson represented the USA in the 1981 Intercontinental Cup, when they won it all. The Texas Rangers picked him in the 4th round of the 1982 Amateur Draft, and he was 4-4 with a 2.65 ERA for the GCL Rangers in his first season. He went 7-5 with a 4.45 ERA with the Burlington Rangers in 1983, and he also pitched 4 games with a 5.40 ERA for the Tulsa Drillers. His 146 strikeouts tied José Guzmán for the most by a Rangers farmhand. Johnson was 6-9 with a 4.53 ERA there in 1984, and he had a 1-3 record with a 4.35 ERA then he announced his retirement.

As a pro, Johnson had gone 19-23 with a 4.09 ERA in 84 games in 4 seasons.
