Biographical Information

Tatsuro Iwasaki played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 9 years.

Iwasaki was drafted by the Chunichi Dragons in the 5th round of the 2006 NPB draft, and he debuted in the 2007 CLCS Final Stage Game 1 as a pinch runner for Ryota Arai. Iwasaki was the first player to debut in a Climax Series. He went 1-for-18 in 2008 after spending a year in the minors, and he was 2-for-11 in 2009. After having a .183/.279/.267 batting line in 78 games in 2010, Iwasaki hit .218/.282/.282 in 2011, and his batting line was .100/.182/.100 in 2012. He was then traded to the Rakuten Golden Eagles for cash, and he hit .218/.252/.267 in 2013. Iwasaki struggled again in 2014 as his batting line was .185/.267/.259, and he was released after hitting .263/.300/.289 in 2015. He returned to the Dragons, but he only played one game with the big club in 2016 and he announced his retirement.

Overall, Iwasaki hit .197/.258/.252 with 75 hits in 9 seasons in NPB.
