Biographical Information[edit]

Takumi Nasuno played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 5 years

Nasuno was 22-10 with a 1.97 ERA in 4 years in the Tohto University Base Ball League, and he set the league record with a 10-game winning streak in 2004. He also represented Japan in the 2004 World University Baseball Championship. He was drafted by the Yokohama BayStars in the first round of the 2004 NPB draft, but he went 1-2 with a 8.18 ERA in his first season. Nasuno was 3-8 with a 4.05 ERA in 2006, and he was moved to the bullpen in 2007. He notched 12 holds with a 3.79 ERA in 63 appearances, and he was 4th in games in the Central League (between Kyuji Fujikawa and Katsuhiro Nagakawa). Nasuno went 5-12 with a 6.47 ERA in 2008, and he was 2nd in losses (tied with Mike Wood). He struggled again in 2009 as his ERA was 11.57 in 12 games, then he was traded with Toshio Saito to the Chiba Lotte Marines for Naoyuki Shimizu. Nasuno never reached the big club for the Marines, and he announced his retirement in 2011.

Overall, Nasuno was 13-27 with a 5.27 ERA, struck out 185 and pitched 266 2/3 innings in 5 seasons in the NPB.
