Biographical Information[edit]
Takeru Sasaki has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.
Sasaki was drafted by the Seibu Lions in the 2nd round of the 2020 NPB draft; the scout was Jun Takeshita.[1] He was 1-2 with a 5.23 ERA in the NPB Farm Leagues in 2021, and he had a 8.31 ERA in 5 games for the top team. He started against the Orix Buffaloes on July 2, but he plunked leadoff hitter Shuhei Fukuda on his head and he was ejected. Sasaki was the first starting pitcher in NPB history to be ejected while only facing one batter. He then went 3-0 with a 3.03 ERA in 2022, and he pitched 21 games with a solid 0.87 ERA in 2023. However, Sasaki underwent Tommy John surgery, and he missed the entire 2024 season. He returned in 2025, and he went 0-3 with a 5.02 ERA in 15 appearances.
