He tied Ju-hyoung Lee and Cesar Valero for 3rd in runs and tied for 9th with 3 doubles. [1] The Orix Buffaloes, Softbank Hawks and Chunichi Dragons drafted him in the first round of the 2019 NPB draft, and the Dragons won the rights to him. Ishikawa went 8-for-14 in his first season, but he was plunked by Kentaro Kuwahara on the left hand in 2021 and missed the entire season. He only played 37 games with 5 homers and a .225/.264/.411 batting line for the big club before he torn his ACL on May 30, 2022, and he missed the rest of the season.
The Aichi native finally broke out in 2023, and he crushed 13 homers with a .242/.282/.394 batting line in 121 games, fielding .931 as their main third baseman. Ishikawa crushed the 9,000th home run in Chunichi's history on July 11 against Cy Sneed. He then recorded a .272/.320/.382 batting line with 4 homers in 2024, losing his starting job to Hiroki Fukunaga.
