Biographical Information

Takao Osaki signed with the Taiyo Whales in 1961, and he went 4-0 with a 2.98 ERA in 52 appearances in his first season. He was 2nd in walks in the Central League (14 behind Kiyoshi Oishi) and 6th in games (tied with Susumu Oba). Osaki only pitched 6 games in 1962, and he was 3-7 with a 2.73 ERA in 1963. He had a 1-1 record with a 3.60 ERA in 1964, and he jumped to the Kintetsu Buffaloes. However, Osaki only pitched one game in 1965, and he announced his retirement.

Overall, Osaki was 8-18 with a 3.20 ERA, struck out 160 and pitched 267 1/3 innings in 5 seasons in NPB.
