Biographical Information[edit]

Tadayoshi Tamakoshi played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 7 years.

Tamakoshi signed with the Kurowashi club in 1940, and he hit .235/.362/.287 in 56 games in his first season. he had a .232/.323/.295 batting line in 1941, and he slumped to .211/.313/.278 in 1942. Tamakoshi then enlisted into the military, and he missed the next four seasons. He returned in 1947 with the Kinsei Stars, and he recorded a .277/.321/.381 batting line in 1947. He then collected 7 triples with a .280/.355/.392 batting line in 1948, and he tied Makoto Kozuru, Kazuo Kasahara, Kazuo Matsumoto, Hatsuo Kiyohara, Chusuke Kizuka and Osamu Takechi for 10th in triples in the Japan Professional Baseball League. Tamakoshi batted .286/.363/.411 with 7 triples in 1949, and he was 10th in triples again (tied with Takeshi Doigaki, Hiroshi Hagiwara and Kozo Kawai). He hit .321/.391/.487 in 23 games in 1950, but he suffered from tuberculosis so he announced his retirement.

Overall, Tamakoshi hit .265/.347/.367 with 469 hits and 24 homers in 7 seasons in NPB.
