Biographical Information[edit]
TJ Laurisch has been on the Greek national team.
He was his high school's league MVP but also set the school record for GPA with 72 A+ grades in 72 classes and got a perfect score in the National Latin Exam; in addition to his baseball and academic excellence, he was captain of the school's mock trial and scholastic bowl teams and volunteered in Sunday School. [1] He allowed 4 runs in 5 1/3 IP as a freshman at Harvard then was 1-1 with a save and a 2.08 ERA as a sophomore, 0-3 with 2 saves and a 4.78 ERA as a junior and had 2 saves and a 7.11 ERA as a senior. As of 2025, his 49 appearances were 4th in school history. [2]
Laurisch was one of three Harvard alumni on the Greek team in the 2025 European Championship alongside Max Warren and Noah Zavolas. [3] He relieved Zavolas in the 8th with the bases loaded, one out and a 2-0 lead over Lithuania in their opener. He plunked Matas Sirgedas and Edvardas Matusevičius hit a two-run single as Lithuania took the lead. He got Adomas Aleksandravičius to end the inning then was the beneficiary of two Greek runs in the bottom of the inning to set him up for the win, which he got after Dimitri Kourtis closed the door in the 9th. He allowed one run in two innings against Italy. In the relegation game, again versus Lithuania, he yielded 5 hits and 3 runs (all earned) in 2/3 IP, including a homer to Vilus Paikovas, but Greece hung on for a 13-5 win. He tied Kourtis for the staff lead in games pitched. [4]
