Biographical Information[edit]

Susumu Nagashima signed with the Nagoya Kinko in 1938, and he hit .189/.280/.221 in 38 games in his first season. He then played 70 games with a .202/.278/.245 batting line in 1939, and he recorded a .190/.317/.226 batting line in 1940. Nagashima left the team due to military service, and he returned in 1950 with the Mainichi Orions. He hit .245/.327/.306 in 33 games in '50, and he went 2-for-12 before the Orions sent him to the Yomiuri Giants. Nagashima only got 3 more at-bats, and he announced his retirement in 1952.

Overall, Nagashima hit .198/.291/.237 with 97 hits in 6 seasons in NPB.
