Biographical Information[edit]

Shunsuke Tamura has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Tamura was drafted by the Hiroshima Carp in the 4th round of the 2021 NPB draft, the scout was Tomofumi Matsumoto.[1] He hit .185/.223/.231 in the NPB Farm Leagues in 2022, and he improved to .278/.314/.387 in 2023. He made his NPB debut on March 31, and he was 8-for-22 with the big club. Tamura then hit .280/.343/.411 with 5 homers in 2024 in the minors, and he struggled again with the top team as his batting line was .198/.229/.267 in 37 games. On April 5, 2025 against Yasuaki Yamasaki, Tamura crushed his first home run in the 11th inning, and he was the first Carp player whose first career homer was a pinch-hit walk-off home run. Tamura ended up hitting .254/.319/.333 in 25 games in '25.
