Biographical Information

Shunsuke Sugiyama was drafted by the Yokohama BayStars in the 4th round of the 1995 NPB draft, but he stayed in the NPB Farm Leagues before the BayStars released him in 2001. The Daiei Hawks signed him, but Sugiyama only played one game in 2002 then he was released in 2003. He went to the Chiba Lotte Marines, and he didn't return to the big club and announced his retirement in 2005. The catcher had gone 1-for-2 in his one game in Japan's top level.
