Biographical Information

Shunsuke Hara represented Japan in the 1994 Asia Junior Championship. He was drafted by the Yomiuri Giants and Chunichi Dragons in the first round of the 1995 NPB draft after they lost the lottery for the rights to Kosuke Fukudome, and the Giants won the lottery for Hara. He spent his first 7 seasons in the NPB Farm Leagues, and he went 12-for-45 in 2003. Hara then went 2-for-5 in 2004, and he hit .125/.176/.125 in 2005. He had a 3-for-19 record in 2006, then he announced his retirement. He later coached Tokai University Shoyo High School from 2016 to 2021, and he became the coach of Tokai University Sagami High School in June 2021.
