Biographical Information

Shun Ikeda was drafted by the Yomiuri Giants in the 4th round of the 2016 NPB draft; the scout was Shigeki Fujimoto. He notched 4 holds with a 3.35 ERA in 33 relief outings in 2017, and his ERA was 4.07 in 28 games in 2018. He only pitched one inning in 2019, and he was traded to the Rakuten Golden Eagles for Zelous Wheeler. Ikeda recorded a 4.32 ERA in 21 appearances in 2020, and he announced his retirement in 2021 after staying in the minors for the entire season. He later became an accountant.
