Biographical Information[edit]
Shoya Shinzato was drafted by the Daiei Hawks in the 7th round of the 1996 NPB draft, and he stayed in the minors in 1997. He played 68 games with a .220/.309/.268 batting line in 1998 (he had 102 PA, backing up Shikato Yanagita), but he only got one more at-bat before the Hawks released him in 2000. Shinzato signed with the Kintetsu Buffaloes, and he announced his retirement after hitting .231/.302/.308 as a backup infielder in 2001.
