Shoji Nagamine pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball for 6 years.
Nagamine was drafted by the Chunichi Dragons in the 5th round of the 2002 NPB draft, and he stayed in the minors in 2003. He recorded a 5.04 ERA in 14 appearances in 2004, but he only got 5 appearances combined in the next three seasons. He had a 6.30 ERA in 2 games for the Estrellas Orientales after the 2006 season, and he went 3-1 with a 2.35 ERA there after the '07 season. Nagamine pitched 33 games with a 5.65 ERA in 2008, and he was 2-1 with a 2.05 ERA in the Dominican. He struggled again in 2009 as he only pitched 4 2/3 innings with 4 runs allowed, and he surrendered 9 runs in 6 innings with the Estrellas Orientales. Nagamine had a 4.08 ERA in 11 relief outings in 2011, and he was released. The Orix Buffaloes signed him, but he failed to return to the top team and he announced his retirement in 2012.
Overall, Nagamine was 5-5 with a 5.66 ERA, struck out 89 and pitched 111 1/3 innings in 3 seasons in NPB. He was 5-6 with a 3.42 ERA in four winters in the Dominican League.
