Biographical Information

Shoichi Kida was drafted by the Yokohama BayStars and Chunichi Dragons in the first round of the 1994 NPB draft, and the BayStars won the lottery for the rights to him; the scout was Makoto Inagawa. He was 1-for-10 in 6 games in 1996, and that was his only appearances before the BayStars released him in 1999. The Seibu Lions signed him, but he stayed in the minors in 2000 and he announced his retirement. He later became a scout for the New York Yankees.
