Biographical Information

Shoichi Futamata has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Futamata was drafted by the Hiroshima Carp in the first round of the development phase in the 2020 NPB draft; the scout was Tomofumi Matsumoto. He hit .218/.248/.361 in 46 games in 2021 in the NPB Farm Leagues, and he had a .246/.289/.357 batting line there in 2022. Futamata then played 107 games with a .257/.312/.366 batting line in 2023, and he debuted with the big club in 2024. He was used as a 4th outfielder, and he recorded a .196/.259/.262 batting line in 80 games. Futamata then played 54 games in 2025, but he struggled again as his batting line was .186/.242/.314.
