Biographical Information[edit]
Shohei Suzuki has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.
Suzuki represented Japan in the 2016 BFA U-18 Baseball Championship. The Seibu Lions selected him in the 4th round of the 2016 NPB draft; the scout was Toshiya Adachi. He hit .280/.365/.332 with 15 steals in the NPB Farm Leagues in 2017, and he collected 26 steals with a .224/.285/.280 batting line in 2018. He led the Eastern League in steals. Suzuki made his NPB debut on April 3, 2019, and he got his first hit against Yusuke Azuma on July 6. He ended up 4-for-26 with the top team, and he hit .305/.354/.377 with 13 steals in the minors.
The Shizuoka native had a .207/.261/.286 batting line with 2 triples in 46 games in 2020, and he went 6-for-38 in 2021. Suzuki recorded a .250/.279/.321 batting line in 212 at-bats in 2022. He played 72 games with a .240/.286/.289 batting line in 2023, but he lost his spot as a regular outfielder in 2024 and his batting line fell to .191/.233/.235. The Lions then released him, and he signed with the independent Kufu HAYATE Ventures Shizuoka in 2025.
Overall, Suzuki hit .225/.266/.282 with 163 hits and 2 homers in 6 seasons in NPB.
