Biographical Information[edit]
Shinsuke Yamada was drafted by the Yomiuri Giants in the 3rd round of the 1997 NPB draft, and he spent his first four seasons in the NPB Farm Leagues. He was 3-for-16 in 2002, and he hit .257/.297/.371 in 26 games in 2003. Yamada only got 23 at-bats combined in the next three seasons, and the Giants traded him to the Hiroshima Carp for Takuya Kimura. He was 14-for-47 in 2006, but he only played 4 games in 2007. The Carp then traded him to the Hanshin Tigers for Go Kida, and he announced his retirement in 2008.
Overall, Yamada hit .226/.304/.290 with 28 hits in 6 seasons in NPB.
