Biographical Information

Shinobu Matsumoto signed with the Chunichi Dragons in 1963, and he only pitched one game in his first four seasons. He recorded a 2.29 ERA in 22 appearances in 1967, and he went 1-5 with a 3.29 ERA in 1968. However, Matsumoto allowed 9 runs in 4 innings in 1969, and he announced his retirement.

Overall, Matsumoto was 4-7 with a 3.37 ERA, struck out 64 and pitched 115 innings in 4 seasons in NPB.
