Biographical Information[edit]
Shingo Matsukubo was drafted by the Kintetsu Buffaloes in the 3rd round of the 1987 NPB draft, and he only got 5 at-bats combined in the first four seasons for the big club. He also went 1-for-6 with the Salt Lake City Trappers in 1989. Matsukubo was 7-for-44 in 1992, and he went 2-for-15 in 1993. He had a 3-for-22 record in 1994, and he hit .184/.273/.347 in 28 games in 1995. Matsukubo didn't reach the big club in 1996, and the Buffaloes released him. He signed with the Yokohama BayStars, but he failed to return to the big club before and he announced his retirement in 1998.
