Biographical Information[edit]
Shigeru Yagi was drafted by the Hankyu Braves in the 3rd round of the 1979 NPB draft, and he played 92 games with a .217/.278/.304 batting line in 1980. He was 6-for-29 in 1981, and he hit .226/.300/.283 in 1982. Yagi had a .200/.273/.225 batting line in 1983, then he was traded to the Hanshin Tigers for cash. He played 60 games with a .187/.218/.253 batting line in 1984, and he announced his retirement.
Overall, Yagi hit .209/.262/.275 with 70 hits in 5 seasons in NPB.
