Biographical Information[edit]
Shigeru Takagi signed with the Nagoya club in 1937, and he went 5-for-23 in the spring season. He hit .191/.256/.261 in 43 games in the fall season, and he missed the next season due to military service. Takagi had a 2-for-4 record in 1939, and he went 5-for-35 in 1940 and he left the team. When the Hiroshima Carp was founded in 1950, they signed Takagi and he hit .202/.275/.242 in 36 games. He recorded a .193/.214/.254 batting line in 42 games in 1951, and he announced his retirement.
Overall, Takagi hit .195/.254/.251 with 76 hits in 6 seasons in NPB.
