Biographical Information[edit]
Seiichi Kaneko played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 7 years.
Kaneko was drafted by the Hanshin Tigers in the 3rd round of the 1988 NPB draft, and he crushed 4 homers with a .208/.280/.375 batting line in his first season. He hit .238/.303/.362 in 87 games in 1990, but he only got 18 at-bats combined in the next two seasons. Kaneko played 101 games (still a backup outfielder, he had 156 PA) with a .241/.290/.393 batting line in 1993, but he suffered from a waist injury so he only got 44 more at-bats before he announced his retirement in 1995.
Overall, Kaneko hit .225/.286/.357 with 103 hits and 11 homers in 7 seasons in NPB.
