Biographical Information[edit]
Seiichi Hirai signed with the Kintetsu Buffaloes in 1963, and he only played 3 games in his first season. He was 4-for-22 in 1964, and he hit .213/.250/.246 in 1965. Hirai played a career-high 91 games with a .234/.255/.291 batting line in 1966 (he had 191 PA, backing up Akitoshi Kodama at 3B), but he only got 4 at-bats in 1967 and he went to the Nishitetsu Lions. Hirai was 14-for-52 in 1968, and he only played 9 more games before he announced his retirement in 1970.
