Biographical Information[edit]
Santiago Garrido pitched in the Kansas City Royals' chain in 2007-2013, Tampa Bay Rays' chain in 2014, and the Detroit Tigers' chain in 2016-2017. Garrido pitched at the AA level in multiple seasons and made a one game appearance in Triple-A in 2013. Over his 10 minor league seasons, Garrido had a 18-32 record with 17 saves and a 4.54 ERA.
Garrido became a coach with the Erie SeaWolves in 2018-2019. He was slated to be the GCL Tigers East pitching coach in 2020 until the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the minor league season. Garrido was then a pitching coach for the FCL Tigers East in 2021. The Detroit Tigers released him after the 2021 season amidst a shake-up of their player development program.
