Biographical Information[edit]
Sadao Kamiya signed with the Tokyu Flyers in 1950, and he was 5-for-21 in 1953. He hit .215/.282/.233 in 73 games in 1954 as the backup shortstop behind Shizuya Mizukami, and he played 55 games with a .167/.195/.202 batting line in 1955. Kamiya recorded a .236/.236/.333 batting line in 32 games in 1956, then he announced his retirement. He later coached the Flyers in 1957 and from 1969 to 1976, and he was their interim manager for 8 games in 1969 after Kenjiro Matsuki left due to gastritis. Kamiya also coached the Yakult Swallows in 1985.
