Biographical Information[edit]
Shizuya Mizukami played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 7 years.
Mizukami signed with the Toei Flyers in 1954, and he hit .262/.292/.308 with 15 steals in his first season. He then got 12 steals with a .262/.292/.308 batting line in 1955, and he led the Pacific League with 55 errors. Mizukami only played 52 games with a .245/.278/.308 batting line, and Teruo Ishihara took his starting spot at short. He slumped to .190/.228/.253 in 1957, and he jumped to the Osaka Tigers after he had a 17-for-65 record in 1958. Mizukami went 9-for-54 in 1959, and he announced his retirement in 1960.
Overall, Mizukami hit .239/.281/.288 with 300 hits and 4 homers in 7 seasons in NPB.
