Biographical Information[edit]
Ryusei Gonda has pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball.
Gonda pitched for TDK after college, and he represented Japan in the 2022 U-23 Baseball World Cup. He allowed one run in seven innings and saved five games for the champs. He led in games pitched and was the only hurler with more than two saves in the event. He was named the All-World reliever and the MVP. He was drafted by the Orix Buffaloes in the 7th round of the 2023 NPB draft; the scout was Daisuke Okazaki. He pitched 31 games with a 3.21 ERA in the NPB Farm Leagues in 2024, and he debuted in the Pacific League against the Softbank Hawks on April 23, 2025; he pitched 2 innings with a run allowed.
