Biographical Information[edit]

Ryo Miki played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 9 years.

Miki hit .313 with 7 homers and three Best Nine awards in his college career. He was drafted by the Chiba Lotte Marines in the 3rd round of the 2013 NPB draft, and he went 3-for-17 in his first season. He had a 4-for-29 record in 2015, and he hit .185/.200/.241 in 75 games (54 at-bats) in 2016. When Daichi Suzuki left the team in 2017, Miki shared the starting shortstop spot with Taiga Hirasawa, and he recorded a .242/.277/.314 batting line in 85 games before a hit-by-pitch from Tomohiro Anraku ended his season on August 24. He was 8-for-34 in 2018, and he played a career-high 89 games with a .214/.270/.286 batting line in 2019. Miki went 1-for-4 in 2020, and he played 84 games as a defensive replacement in 2021; he he only got 9 at-bats. Miki went 4-for-25 in 2022, and he announced his retirement in 2023. The Marines named him their minor league infield fielding coach in 2024.

Overall, Miki hit .214/.254/.277 with 108 hits and 5 homers in 9 seasons in NPB.
