Biographical Information

Ryjeteri Merite has pitched in the minors.

He was 1-1 with a 0.91 ERA for the Netherlands in the 2023 U-18 Baseball World Cup, beating Panama's Moises Castillo, who would join him in the Reds chain the next year. He lost to Puerto Rico's Ibrahim Gonzalez. That winter, he was signed by Cincinnati Reds scout Dargello Lodowica. He had a 2.45 ERA in 3 outings for the 2024 DSL Reds, but one of those games was a combined no-hitter with Stharlin Torres and Ariel De La Cruz against the DSL Rojos.

Merite was superb for the 2025 DSL Reds, with a 0.81 ERA and 44 K in 33 1/3 IP, though he was 1-2. He then made the Netherlands' squad for the 2026 World Baseball Classic.
