Biographical Information[edit]

First baseman Ryan Keedy played in the minor leagues from 2008 to 2010, peaking at High-A. He was taken by the Chicago Cubs in the 16th round of the 2008 amateur draft, one pick after outfielder Billy Burns. He was signed by scout Michael Valarezo.

He started off strong, slashing .333/.419/.437 with 3 home runs and 40 RBI in 70 games for the Boise Hawks his first year, earning a spot on the Northwest League Mid-Season All-Star team. In 2009, he hit .236/.304/.236 in 27 games for the Daytona Cubs, earning a release in late June. The Florida Marlins signed him, and he rebounded to hit .304/.359/.530 with 8 home runs and 40 RBI in 47 games for the Greensboro Grasshoppers the rest of the way. In 2010, he hit .221/.318/.317 in 60 games split between the Grasshoppers and Jupiter Hammerheads to wrap up his career.

Overall, he hit .282/.362/.400 with 13 home runs and 113 RBI in 204 games.

Prior to playing professionally, he had made the 2005 NJCAA Division I Baseball World Series All-Tournament Team and the 2008 Conference USA Tournament All-Tournament Team.
