Biographical Information[edit]
Rommel Torres played in 1996-1997 in the Dominican Summer League. He hit .222/.308/.284 for the 1998 GCL Pirates in the Pittsburgh Pirates chain, serving as their most-used catcher. He was with the Panamanian national team in the 2003 Pan American Games. In the 2003 Baseball World Cup, he was 2-for-5 for Panama, backing up Julio Mosquera for the Silver Medalists. When Panama won Bronze in the 2005 Baseball World Cup, he was on Panama's roster but did not get into a game.
