Biographical Information

Riku Ogata has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Ogata was drafted by the Softbank Hawks in the 5th round of the development phase in the 2020 NPB draft; the scout was Atsushi Fukumoto. He stayed in the NPB Farm Leagues in his first three seasons, and he led the Western League with 17 steals in 2022. Ogata was Softbank's 4th outfielder in 2024, and he was 9-for-52 in 86 games. He hit .216/.247/.270 in 101 games in 2025, and he appeared in 4 games in the 2025 Nippon Series as pinch-runner or defensive replacement; the Hawks beat the Hanshin Tigers in 5 games.
