Rick Alan Reed

Rick Reed was a big league umpire from 1979, when he worked his first few American League games, until 2009. He did not become a full-time major league umpire until 1983, as he was working mostly in the International League from 1979 to 1982. Starting in 2000, he was integrated to the consolidated major league umpiring staff. He was designated a crew chief at the end of his career, but worked only 48 and 41 games in his final two seasons. In all, he worked 3,392 regular season games. He also worked three Division Series, three League Championship Series, the 1991 World Series and the 1986 and 1998 All-Star Games.
He suited up for the role 1999 movie For the Love of the Game as the home plate umpire.
