Kondo was drafted by the Chunichi Dragons in the first round of the development phase in the 2020 NPB draft; the scout was Tomoya Yagi.[1] He was 1-3 with a 7.71 ERA in the NPB Farm Leagues in 2021, and he also pitched 2 games with a 4.50 ERA for the top team. Kondo then suffered from a left shoulder injury, and he missed the entire 2022 season. On August 25, 2023, Kondo returned to the top team against the Yokohama BayStars. However, he allowed 10 runs in one inning, and he set the Chunichi team record for most pitches in an inning with 62; he was 2 pitches shy from breaking Makoto Yoshino's NPB record. Kondo then had a 2.09 ERA in 46 appearances in the minors in 2024, and he notched 4 saves with a 0.69 ERA in 2025. He also pitched 16 games for the top team, and his ERA was 2.20 with one hold.
