Regular season

From BR Bullpen

The regular season is the time during which the bulk of games are played. It is common for a predetermined number of games to be scheduled. (Major League Baseball includes 162 games for each team each regular season.) It may consist of halves or stages. The regular season may be followed by a postseason.

The regular season is also differentiated from exhibition games, whose statistics are not compiled and whose results are not included in the standings.
