Biographical Information[edit]

Randy McCament was signed as a 15th round pick in the 1985 amateur draft by the San Francisco Giants and scout Gene Thompson. He was a starter in his first season in pro ball, 1985, going 7-3, but thereafter was a reliever. He spent parts of five seasons in the Texas League and parts of four seasons in the Pacific Coast League. He retired after the 1992 season.

He pitched only parts of two major league seasons, both with the Giants. In 1989, after making his debut in late May, he went 1-1, 3.93 in 25 games, and in 1990, he had no decisions in three games with an ERA of 3.00. He had a very lopsided K/W ratio in his 42 2/3 big league innings, with 28 walks but just 17 strikeouts.

McCament and Kevin Wickander were at Grand Canyon College at the same time and both made their major league debut in 1989.
