Randy Eugene Mazey

Randy Mazey has been a minor league player and college coach.
The Baltimore Orioles took Mazey in the 11th round of the 1984 amateur draft as a high school pitcher. He went 8-1 in college and hit .331, winning All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors. The Cleveland Indians chose him in the 28th round of the 1988 amateur draft. As an outfielder for the Burlington Indians, he hit .217/.333/.325 and played error-free ball; he pitched one game, allowing four hits and two runs in 1 1/3 IP. He spent 1989 with the independent Miami Miracle, batting .218/.244/.276 in 29 games.
Returning to Clemson, Mazey was assistant coach from 1990-1993, including a trip to the 1991 College World Series. He went 66-84-1 as head coach of Charleston Southern University from 1994-1996. He spent one season apiece as an assistant at the University of Georgia and East Carolina University before spending four years with the University of Tennessee, going to the 2001 College World Series. He was back at East Carolina from 2003-2005, now as head coach, with a record of 120-63-1, including a school-record 51 wins in '04.
